The first days of the 4th period at the Online Poker World Championship have been quite busy as some of the players have already made more than 50 units for their personal scores and a couple of them even crossed the 100 mark. This period promises to be even hotter than the previous and some of the regular names, along with some new ones have started to get some interest from the spectators and participants.
One of the usual names on top of the poker ranking in the beginning of every chapter is the well-known gladiator “OPWCMaltaman” who has been characterized for his incredible grinding speed and volume of games in a short time frame. The Maltese falcon has scored more than 160 points and the difference between him and the runner-up is huge. Two Europeans follow him on the ranking to state once again the Old World’s sharks are here and will be here till they own the whole poker championship.
“RoyalJoker” and “Kevster102” from Germany and the United Kingdom respectively have put their names on the hottest spots of the ranking and despite the competition is getting tough they continue with a descent advantage over the rest of the field. Kevster102 managed to take the first position of his continent the last period after a last minute sprint which allowed him to snap the European crown from the strong new-comer “Erdium” who lost the chance to participate in the Eliminations just for one unit. RoyalJoker also did pretty good during the third period and his 170 points helped him to finish 12th and qualify for the Period Final.
8 Europeans have a spot within the Top 10 certifying the great moment they are going through and there are only two players who can call themselves direct challengers to end this devastating domination: on the 4th position the Colombian “DhernandezQ” who has collected 70 points so far and has been mainly seen at the tables of Winner, card room responsible for the start of a lot of new players careers given the FREE $10 instant sponsorships that they have spread all over the OPWC. This is the first time Hernandez reaches such a high position and only time could tell if he is actually keeping or improving it. The other player who hasn’t been totally crushed by the current leaders is the Australian grinder “EnglishTim” who has already been seen fighting his way up the poker scoreboard in previous stages. The Aussie has made 54 units and moved up two positions in the last hours to grasp the 7th spot. Will this be the period where he can take the crown away from “oMUZZAo” the undisputed king of his Continental squad?
The best player for North America, the Canadian “DirtyBlond” runs 18th and looks strong enough to go even further. The anonymous player can be found at the PKR’s 10-man Sit n’ Go tourneys, where he has averaged 1 unit per game in the last opportunities. “RogerKorn” has joined the North American campaign and has won 8 points so far; the Mexican participant will surely climb some more spots if he continues with his goals in mind like becoming a pro and why not offer his family a better life style.
Other remarkable starts which deserve to be mentioned are the Polish players “Patronus” and “Arturros17” these prominent representatives of the White/Red Flag are running hot on the Top 10 and don’t seem like staying behind given they are constantly adding more and more points to the already nice reputation they have built for their Nation.
